Track Wildfire Smoke & Air Quality With These Forecast Maps

One of the great tools that you may not know about is our wildfire smoke forecast maps on OpenSnow.

Our maps highlight the approximate locations of current fires and forecast downstream smoke impacts for the next 2 days.

1. Get started by tapping the large overlay button located at the bottom of the Maps tab...

2. Once the overlay card opens, you’ll see our list of map layers to select and view...

Air Quality Real-Time

  • Use this map to view the current PM 2.5 air quality index. Shown as the 10-minute average for the past 24 hours and available worldwide.
  • Tap here to view the map.

Smoke Hi-Res (surface)

  • Use this map to track smoke for the next 2 days near the ground where it can impact breathing. Updated every hour and available for the continental United States.
  • Tap here to view the map.

Smoke Hi-Res (sky)

  • Use this map to track smoke for the next 2 days in the sky where it can impact visibility. Updated every hour and available for the continental United States.
  • Tap here to view the map.

Smoke (surface)

  • Use this map to track smoke for the next 2 days near the ground where it can impact breathing. Updated every hour and available across all of North America.
